Strong, Steady and Reliable Hydraulic Power

All the hydraulic accessories are powered by the auxiliary hydraulic pump system, ensuring a steady and unbroken flow of power to all hydraulic devices – including log clamping, log turning, and toe boards. The comprehensive auxiliary hydraulic pump system includes a 5 HP gas engine, hydraulic pump, hydraulic hoses & fittings, mounting brackets, and all necessary hardware.

Rotate Massive Logs with the Flick of a Lever

A powerful hydraulic log turner will revolutionize your lumber processing by rotating massive logs with the simple adjustment of a lever. With a deep-toothed chain for superior grip and dual-direction rotation, the log turner will streamline positioning for the opening cut ... and second ... and third cuts that follow. Turn strenuous log rotation into a task as simple as flexing a muscle.

Easy Taper Adjustment… Lift, Align and cut with the Grain!

Trees are wider at the butt, making it challenging to mill true lumber parallel to the heart of the log, which is crucial when milling for grade lumber. With hydraulic toe boards, adjusting log taper to maintain a cutting face parallel to the grain is made easy. Each hydraulic toe board is outfitted with a powerful hydraulic cylinder capable of lifting full-size logs up to 3-7/8 inches (9.8 cm) above the log bed.

Secure Logs with Vise-like Power

The hydraulic log rests and log dog system is used to position and securely hold logs on your mill with hydraulic power. Operate twin log rests simultaneously with a single lever, adjusting up to 12-7/8 inches (32.7 cm) for full-size logs and down to 7/8 inches (22 mm) for milling close to the bed. The dual-function, four-way log dog clamp securely manipulates cants, and, when combined with the hydraulic log turner, you have the ultimate log positioning system for all your cuts.

still have questions?

Adding hydraulics can greatly increase productivity and reduce physical labor. Hydraulics can automate tasks such as log turning, clamping, and taper adjustment, making the milling process faster and more efficient.

Yes, it does. The Hydraulics Log Handling System is designed as a complete system for your OS35 sawmill. It includes everything needed to install and operate all the included attachments: hydraulic log rests, log dog clamp, log turner, and front and back toe boards. The package even comes with new patent-pending steel cross bunks with added strength to support the hydraulic attachments. The pump, control station, hoses, cylinders, hydraulics equipment compatible cross bunks, brackets, hardware and all the attachments are included. Of course, you’ll need some basic tools and will have to provide fuel, lubricants, and hydraulic fluid.

When you add hydraulics to a portable sawmill, there's an initial learning period required to become proficient with the new features. The complexity of the learning curve may depend on your previous experience with sawmilling and hydraulic systems. While basic operations may be learned quickly, mastering the efficient use of hydraulic features to optimize various log handling techniques takes time and practice. However, most operators find that the benefits of reduced physical effort and increased productivity are worth the investment in learning how to use these new and powerful features.

Hydraulic systems introduce additional maintenance tasks, including checking hydraulic fluid levels, oiling the log turner chain, inspecting hoses and connections for leaks, replacing fluids and maintenance of the auxiliary engine at recommended intervals. Regular inspection and maintenance are important to ensure the hydraulic system operates efficiently whenever you are ready to start milling.
